Saving files to your system Transferring content from a PDF file Saving files to your systemIt is strongly recommended that you save PDF files to your hard-disk drive. Attempting to link directly to large PDF files can cause your system to freeze. Errors have also been reported when attempting to read some PDF files via the web browser, when Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 5.05 has been installed. To overcome these problems ensure that you have the latest version of the free reader and save PDF files (files with an extension of .pdf) to your hard-disk drive. Right-click the document title,
To view a PDF file, launch Acrobat Reader. Click File / Open and select the PDF file. Transferring content from a PDF file into a word processor page.Provided the PDF file is not password protected this can be accomplished as follows ;- 1.1 Open up the existing PDF file using Adobe Acrobat reader. 1.2 Select Edit/select all from the menu at the top of Acrobat, or by pressing ctrl and a simultaneously on the keyboard. 1.3 Select Edit/copy from the menu at the top of Acrobat, or by pressing ctrl and c simultaneously on the keyboard. [Some versions of Acrobat have a copy file to clipboard option under edit in 1.4 Open up a new page in MS Word or any similar word processor programme. 1.5 Select Edit/Paste from the menu at the top of MS Word, or by pressing ctrl and v simultaneously on the keyboard 1.6 The text, but not the formatting (tables etc) will appear on the page. Reformat as required. |
