Tracey is a familiar face to the AHCP. In 2008 Tracey was a speaker at the AHCP conference, focusing on ‘Free to Lead, Free to Care’, a Report that was about to be published by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Commissioned by the Minister for Health and Social Services to explore how ward sisters/charge nurses could be empowered to improve patients’ experience and the environment of care, the recommendations included the involvement of the ward sister in the recruitment of cleaning staff as part of her team, the revision of the national cleaning standards and a national approach to monitoring, a national cleaning operative proficiency certificate, rapid response teams, development of enhanced roles for cleaning staff and standardisation of cleaning products across Wales.
