New NHS Procurement Strategy

The Department of Health is working with the NHS to draw up a new strategy for NHS procurement which will be published by 31st March 2012. To coincide with this, a 1-day conference entitled 'A New Strategy for NHS Procurement: Securing the Future of NHS Services' will take place on 17th April 2012 at the Manchester Conference Centre.

The conference is intended to help launch the initiative and engage with all parts of the NHS. Its aims are to brief delegates and promote discussion about how the new strategy can be implemented, the implications and in particular how savings can be achieved.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • John Warrington, Deputy Director, Procurement, Investment and Commercial Division, Department of Health
  • Lord Hunt of Kings Heath President, Health Care Supply Association
  • Aaron Cummins Chair, Foundation Trust Network Finance Directors Forum, and Director of Finance, Liverpool Heart and Chest Clinic
  • Chris Tulloch Orthopaedic Consultant, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust

The conference will be chaired by Colin Cram, Former Chief Executive, North West Centre of Excellence and Director, Marc, and has been organised by Public Sector Events Ltd..
