Independent Regulatory Challenge Panel Update

As members will know following correct health and safety practices is essential in all work place activities. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the national independent watchdog for work-related health, safety and illness. It acts as an independent regulator in the public interest to reduce work-related death and serious injury across Great Britain’s workplaces.

The HSE has set up a new Independent Regulatory Challenge Panel to examine complaints about the advice it gives. The Independent Regulatory Challenge Panel looks into complaints regarding advice given by HSE or LA inspectors about health and safety.

The panel will consist of independent members who will have the competence and experience to assess advice that has been given on regulatory matters.
