I have been working for Green Valet for 8 years. In that time, the company has been a sponsor member and I am currently a member of the Southern Branch. The Association has been an important source of information and link between the NHS and the tasks they are faced with and the suppliers that need to provide necessary services and support.
I am very honoured and excited to be asked to be the Deputy Chair for the South of England. It is an exciting time ahead with AHCP potentially playing a big role within the reforms in the NHS. I look forward to working with you all.

Deputy National Chair England (North)

I would like to introduce myself as Denise Foster. My role is that of a Facilities Manager within County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
I have worked in the Trust for 14 years and am currently based at the University Hospital of North Durham. My remit covers full site responsibility for Soft Services and the monitoring of the site based PFI providers. I am also the Trust wide representative for the National Specifications of Cleanliness and ensure monitoring standards are adhered to across a multi site Trust.
With my ethos focused on a clean environment for all users of the facilities, I feel that we, the Association, and I as an individual, need to ensure it remains high on all stakeholders' agendas. This is my primary reason for wishing to take up the proposed role. After all, don't our clients and users of our facilities deserve a clean environment every day?

Deputy National Chair Scotland
Mary Anne Kane
email
For those of you who don't already know me.
My name is Mary Anne Kane and I am delighted to be asked to be the Deputy National Chair - Scotland for another term.
I have worked within NHS Facilities for almost 20 years and I am currently employed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which is the largest Health Board in NHS Scotland, as a Facilities General Manager.
I have responsibility for Hard and Soft Facilities services within the North East Sector as well as strategic responsibility Board wide for HAI issues, Catering, Fire, Security and some other project work. Part of my remit is that of HAI Lead for Facilities in the Board, which means I work very closely on a day-to-day basis with the Cleaning Services Staff, Infection Control Team and Clinical Colleagues to ensure that there is a cohesive approach to the delivery of a clean and safe patient environment. I am very much aware that it is the cleaning staff in particular who are first in line for negative reporting of incidents when in fact we have a team of professional, hardworking, dedicated and loyal staff who contrary to the media's portrayal actually care and contribute to patient care in often challenging conditions.
I am particularly keen within the AHCP to ensure that the profile of our staff is raised to the highest level and that they are recognised as professionals in their own right with a voice, which counts for something locally, politically and in the media. This can only happen if the organisation can respond to the changing environment around it and tap into its members' extensive knowledge and experience.
This is an exciting time to be involved with the AHCP and I am looking forward to the challenge.

I am currently on maternity leave from my post as an Assistant Housekeeping & Catering Manager at the University Hospital of Wales and have worked for the Health Service for 8 years.
I have been aware of the Association for a short period of time however, during that time I have become increasingly aware what an important link the Association is to Healthcare Providers within the UK.
In the midst of many changes within the Health Service in Wales, I am especially excited, albeit with some trepidation, to be asked to be the Deputy National Chair for Wales and very eager to uphold our mission; 'Harnessing the strength of our members to provide excellence in professional healthcare cleaning'.
