The last ever ADM / first ever AHCP Conference and Exhibition took place in Blackpool in April 2007.
Chair of AHCP, Andrew Matthews, writes
Dear Colleagues, It gave me great pleasure to welcome old and new faces at Conference last month. The Association has a history of successful conferences which many members have attended and enjoyed immensely. These events are annual opportunities to get together, learn new things, network with colleagues and catch up with friends.
This year we set out to build on these successes. Our main goal was for the conference to be more interactive, incorporating the exhibitors within the programme and introducing a greater range of delegates. With the back drop of decreasing funds within the NHS this turned out to be quite a challenge.
Our interactive sessions were based around the three key themes of Modernisation, Innovation and Inspiration. The outcomes of these sessions will be published shortly following developments at the NHS Confederation Conference from 20 - 22 June 2007.
The support and dedication of some of the members of the Yorkshire and North Western Branches have been invaluable to the successful production of the event. I would also like to thank some individuals who have given up an immense amount of personal time to this conference - Heather Whitehead, Chair of the Programme sub-committee; Donna Jones, Chair of the Entertainment sub-committee; Susan McHugh, Deputy Chair, Northern England; also Lara Wade Lynn Webster and Chris Davies. My thanks also to my personal advisor on conference organisation (and AHCP Admin Support) Penny Harrison.
I believe that the conference was a positive experience for all who were able to share in it and will be an essential event on the conference calendar in 2008.
Regards to you all
Andrew Matthews
