The Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals

We are a non-profit, non-government association whose members are currently from countries throughout the British Isles.
Our members are professionals affiliated to, or linked with, healthcare cleaning.

These extracts from our Terms of Reference explain a little more about our purposes, which are to:-

1. Establish a geographically wide network of members by continuing to promote the profile of the Association through:-

• mutual learning,
• assistance and support
• information sharing, and identifying emerging challenges and opportunities
• world wide links with similar individuals and professional bodies.

2. Anticipate emerging issues having cross-regional or national impacts on our members’ work.

3. Lobby relevant influential bodies; individuals, government, etc., who impact on healthcare cleaning and associated functions.

4. Commission and develop research related to our members’ core activities, attracting appropriate funding and support to underpin this work.

5. Contribute to and develop learning opportunities for the benefit of members and partner organisations.

	Mission Statement Harnessing the strength of our members to provide excellence in professional healthcare cleaning

For more than 30 years managers of cleaning and allied services within the public sector, but especially within the National Health Service, have had their networking needs met by the Hospital Domestic Administrators’ Association – latterly Association of Domestic Management (ADM)

In 2006 ADM’s Council of Management spent time reflecting on how best to meet the needs of today’s members as a result of which the Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals has come into being.

Launched at ADM National Conference 2007 AHCP will continue to represent Managers in all these Public and Private Sector services:-

• Cleaning
• Domestic
• Hotel
• Support

including:- Laundry / Linen, Portering, Transport, Telecommunication......

and supporting Lecturers in all these subjects.

With well over 700 members – and growing daily – we include managers and supervisory staff in all these areas;
also members supporting these services in the supply and manufacturing worlds.
We have Branches throughout the UK, so there's help available near you!
